How to attach our ‘Patented’ Newborn Sling – Loop Top

I am providing both a diagram, as well as pictures to explain how to attach our Newborn Sling Photography Prop LOOP TOP.  The slings, as well as the Branches, can be found and purchased here:  the Maternity and Newborn Photography Prop Shop

Newborn Sling Photography Prop - Loop Top

Instructions on how to hang a baby safely and snugly in these slings can be found here on our Blog!  It is Lesson #3

IMPORTANT NOTE!  If you purchased the Cotton Sak sling…you’ll need to remove the bar BEFORE attempting to attach the sling.  You can then put the bar back in once the sling is attached!

Branches are also available on the Maternity and Newborn Photography Prop Shop, and can be purchased as a Branch and Sling Combo as well!

Where can u get these from?

Kathy…the branches come in various colors. These darker red one’s have been depleted from our inventory, and our current supplier only has the browner one’s available. I could see if I could find a redder one for you if you would like. Just let me know!

I just got my loop top sling and branch. I was just wandering how you got your branch to look smooth/shiny and reddish in color?

Mary Jo…if it is a Cotton Sak Loop Top, then yes. If it is a Cotton Sak Stork Sling, then you will need to tie it.

Hi Gretchen! You can read the Free Lesson on how to safely put a newborn in the sling…and it explains how I use the branch. Thank YOU!

Thanks for the wonderful info!!! I’m expecting my first grandchild at the end of August, so I’ve been trying to read all I can about newborn photography. I do have a question – What type set-up do you use to hold the branch/bar up?

Thanks a bunch!!!!
gretchen :o )

Mary Jo…GREAT question, and a good reminder for me to post a note!! (which I have)

You’ll need to remove the padded, bendable bar from the sling BEFORE attaching it to your sling. Once attached, simply put the bar back in!

Thank YOU so much for your question!

So, I have the sling that is sewn in the back. Do I do the same thing by laying the branch on top, tossing the fabric over and pulling it through that hole in the back that was left open?
